[XANSYS] Hyperviscoelastic modeling using ANSYS Workbench

Hi,

I want to Modal Analysis of cantilever membrane made of Hyperviscoelastic
material using ANSYS Workbench. I am able to perform separate modeling using
Mooney Rivlin for hyperelastic and Prony series for viscoelastic cases. How
can I use BB or any other hyperviscoelastic model in workbench for analyzing
the combined case?

You are missing your affiliation - required by XANSYS rules.

A modal analysis is, by its nature, linear. Non-linear hyperelastic models etc have to be linearised.

Have a look at linear perturbation analysis in the manual - chapter 9 in the structural analysis guide. In WB have a look at prestress modal analyses.

Modal analysis doesn't work for non-linear materials. You might be able to run a restarted modal analysis after applying a load to your model, but the material properties will be constant. You 'd be assuming small displacements about the loaded configuration. Check your first principles.

If You have noticable nonlinearities instead linearising them, You can try one of following:

As my noble colleagues said, modal analysis is in nature linear. If You have noticable nonlinearities instead linearising them, You can try one of following: - Try perturbation method (http://www.padtinc.com/blog/the-focus/ansys-13-0-enhanced-modal-analyses-with-linear-perturbation) - Trainsient structural, explicit or implicit, that then FFT the time response - Use APLD Math to obtain iteratively special case of modal solution.
