Hello, I may need to model some elliptical openings in an offshore steel structure which is modeled by areas. Checking the ‘primitives’ commands list did not reveal a direct command to do this…has anyone found a way to make an elliptical area? I intend to ‘drill’ the openings using the ASBA command. Hi, you could define an elliptical coordinate system (e.g. with LOCAL) and then with L define the ellipse. With that you can define the cutting surface. Hello MARKO You can create a circle using CYL4 command , then use ARSCALE command to scale the X and Y dimension using 1:2 ratio Here is an example I used recently csys,0 wpoffs,,-(L_base+L_SF) CYL4,0,0,CR_DISH/4,-90,CR_DISH/4,-180 ! I MADE A QUARTER CIRCLE USING THIS arscale,1,,,2,,,,,1 !
