Dear XANSYS members,

The purpose of this email is to remind everyone about the mailing list address and the forum interface.

Most of you would have known by now that we have migrated from Mailman2 to Mailman3. Martin Liddle and Eric Miller have worked behind the scenes with Brian Carpenter of EMWDhttps://www.emwd.com/ (the company's founder this mailing list is hosted on) to make this migration work.

The mailing list remains at this address: xansys-temp@list.xansys.orgmailto:xansys-temp@list.xansys.org.

And we now have a forum (web interface) at https://list.xansys.org/empathy/list/xansys-temp.list.xansys.org.

Martin and Eric began the process of removing the 'temp' from the mailing list address. We were in touch with Brian on this matter. At the time the request was initiated, Brian was admitted to the hospital for Covid. He responded to the ticket, asking for two weeks to battle out Covid and then he'll sort the mailing list address for us. Unfortunately, Brian didn't make it through. So we will live with the 'temp' for now.

The cost of hosting the XANSYS list, as it always has been, is borne by PADThttps://www.padtinc.com/.

I'll be handling all the administrative tasks for this mailing list, so please send all requests to xansys-temp-owner@list.xansys.orgmailto:xansys-temp-owner@list.xansys.org. Of course, Martin will still be around for all the difficult questions. 😊

For the new members in XANSYS, please remember to include your name and affiliation in all your postings to the list. Please be as descriptive as possible with your questions to help others to help you. We're all busy professionals, so please be patient if you don't receive an answer quickly.

I would also like to sincerely thank everyone who took and still takes their time to help fellow members with their questions. We have some members who's been with this list for many, many moons. This list wouldn't have lasted this long or grown to be this large without your contribution. Thank you for your contribution.

Lastly, now that we're on this platform and I expect this platform to operate seamlessly 😊, I am attaching a PDF that describes how this list began. All it took was an email in 1994 and look where we are now.

A short history of ANSYS can be found on this page: https://www.fea-optimization.com/ansys/ANS-history.txt

Thank you all for your participation in this forum.

Best Regards,

Kenneth Brian Gomez
